Settings

Open Settings from the gear icon in the bottom bar. Settings are organised into categories shown in a left-hand rail — select a category to see its options in the panel on the right. One category is shown at a time, so each screen stays focused.

The categories are General, Account, Library, Backup, Integrations, and Help.

General

Theme

Choose between System, Light, and Dark mode. System follows your macOS appearance preference.

Default: Dark

App Updates

Shows your current version and update status. Click Check for Updates to look for a new version manually; if one is available, buttons appear to download it and then restart to install.

Account

Sign in, manage your Clipthesis Backup subscription, and check on cloud sync. Cloud Sync is free for every signed-in account and runs automatically — this section shows your last sync time and keeps a Sync Now button for when you don't want to wait. The subscription applies to Clipthesis Backup only ($0.01/GB per month — see Cloud Backup): subscribe here, view how much you have stored with a cost estimate for the current period, and open the billing portal via Manage billing. You can also sign out, and if you've been given an access code (issued manually in special cases), enter it via Have an access code?.

Library

Holds the Transcription settings: turn on auto-transcribe for new imports, pick and download a Whisper model, set the default language, watch the live transcription queue, and bulk-transcribe your existing library with Transcribe all.

See Transcription for the full guide.

Backup

Clipthesis Backup

Cloud backup of your indexed media, deduplicated across drives, with usage stats and a restore browser. Appears once your account has an active subscription (or a manually granted access code); signed-in users without one see a short pointer to subscribe in Settings → Account.

See Cloud Backup for the full guide.

Database Backup

Create a local snapshot of your database (optionally with a description), and view, restore, or delete existing backups. Each entry shows its timestamp, description, and file size.

See Backup & Restore for the full guide.

Integrations

DaVinci Resolve

Test Connection checks whether DaVinci Resolve Studio is running and responsive, showing the current project name on success. Transfer tags as keywords (default: enabled) sends tags as comma-separated keywords when you send clips to Resolve's Media Pool. The category also shows the send-to-Resolve keyboard shortcut and setup requirements.

See DaVinci Resolve Integration for the full guide.

Help

Keyboard Shortcuts

A read-only reference of all keyboard shortcuts, grouped by context. Also accessible by pressing ? anywhere in the app.

See Keyboard Shortcuts for the full list.
